PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Summer Seline was born in 1956 to an artist mother and an engineer father. The family moved every two years until settling permanently in New Brunswick, Canada in 1967. Growing up, Summer did not have the advantages most other children and teens take for granted. She was unwanted, unloved, neglected, and abused physically, psychologically, verbally, and sexually. A highly sensitive and shy young woman, she struggled with extreme PTSD which continued her entire life. She did not have any support, or mentors or guides. In her adult life, she only encountered people who tried to silence her.

Summer’s writing is character-based. Though her books are dark, violent and explicit, those elements are balanced by humor and tenderness. She creates complex, richly-woven plots with wounded, passionate characters, whose struggles and triumphs she shares. Through her writing, she would like to be a healing voice for other victims.
